Okay I know the elements of good design, I have a way of patterns and of writing and editing and fitting things on the page. I've been publishing for a long time...but mostly because I've come through many positions where printers were all set up and they required we turn in an image ready cut and pasted board and there was always one student who knew the picture to hole ratio.
Now everything's all digital and pdf-ie.
Does anyone know where I can go to read about modern digital publishing as a student newspaper adviser? This has evolved past what I learned in college those 12 years ago.
Everyone is yelling at me: the publisher, the lady who handles all print things on campus, the design guy and the students and parents. They are yelling about images and fonts. Why are there fucking fonts on the programs that don't work anywhere!!! Gaa!
I did my shit man, I edited it, designed it, laid it out. Mia Culpa I don't know what to do if I can't put wax on it and call it a day!~
